    God is Scandalous The Strange Victory of a Slaughter Lamb 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (ESV) Satan is: ● Isaiah 14:12-14 (CEB) – Prideful ● John 8:44a (GWT) – A Murderer ● John 8:44b (GWT) – A Liar The biggest thing that is true about Satan is that he is Angry. Satan is angry at God and he hates God and attacks what God loves most – People Satan’s Attack on Humanity – Ephesians 6:10-12 (CEV) Why Satan attacks us – he hates us When Satan attacks us – constantly How Satan attacks us – Genesis 3:1-5 (ESV) ● By questioning God’s Word ● By questioning God’s Love ● By questioning God’s Character Satan denies God’s Word and substitutes his own lies. Satan wants to destroy you – 1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV) Jesus is the Lamb- 1 Peter 1:19 (NLT) Revelation 5:6 (NIV) How can a slain lamb overcome a roaring lion? Overcoming Satan’s Attacks – Revelation 12:11 (NLT) ● By the Blood of the Lamb Satan constantly attacks us before the Father – Revelation 12:10 (GNT) Our Answer: Satan, I’m worse than you think, but God loves me and has forgiven me and accepted me because of the blood of the Lamb. ● By the Word of their Testimony Acts 20:24 (NIV) Romans 1:16 (ESV) 1 Corinthians 1:21 (NCV) ● By Not Loving their Lives so much as to Not Risk Death Our Attitude needs to be: Esther 4:16 (CEB) – if I die, I die Daniel 6:10 (CEV) – don’t stop praying Daniel 3:16-18 (NIV) – don’t bow down to a false god The call of Jesus is to die. It is by the blood of the Lamb we have forgiveness of sin. It is by the blood of the Lamb we become a new creation. It is by the blood of the Lamb we have purpose. We are covered by the blood of the Lamb when we surrender our live to Him.

    Irony #1: The Man Who is Mocked as King is King
    Matthew 27:27-31 (ESV)
    Jesus is proclaimed king as He enters Jerusalem. – Matthew 21:9 (NIV)
    The sign above the cross proclaimed Him as king.
    Jesus is king because:
    He has all Power. – Revelation 4:11 (CEB)
    He has all Authority. – Matthew 28:18 (NKJV)
    He has all Divinity – Philippians 2:6, 10-11 (NLT)
    Irony #2: The Man Who is Utterly Powerless is All- Powerful
    Matthew 27:32-40 (ESV)
    Jesus was powerless.
    Someone had to carry His cross.
    He was crucified publicly and naked.
    Soldiers gambled for His clothing.
    He was controlled by hostile guards.
    From a human perspective He had no hope of escape.
    John 2:19 (ESV) Jesus is the temple.
    Jesus broke the power of:
    Irony #3: The Man Who Cannot Save Himself Saved Others
    Matthew 27:41-42
    Jesus healed the sick.
    Jesus exercised demons out of people.
    Jesus fed the hungry multitudes.
    Jesus raised the dead.
    Jesus means he will save His people.

    Irony #4: The Man Who Cries Out in Despair Trusts God
    Matthew 27:43-51 (ESV)
    The Darkness shows God’s grace and judgment.
    Jesus cries out in:
    Hurt not Surprise
    Pain not Anger
    Suffering not Defeat
    Jesus shouts out and releases His Spirit – the work of salvation is complete.
    The curtain is torn from top to bottom – access to God is open to all.
    Jesus, the Son, trusted the Father and made Himself our sacrifice for sin.
    The God of the universe became human.
    The God of the universe died on the cross for your sin.
    The God of the universe is offering you forgiveness, eternal life, and eternal purpose.
    It takes your willingness to submit your life to Jesus’ authority.
